The George Washington Colonials hope to avoid the upset at the Massachusetts Minutemen.
The George Washington Colonials are so dangerous because they can both score and defend and win if either end of the floor struggles. That wasn’t a worry Saturday as the Colonials were dominant in most areas of a 91-64 victory versus visiting Duquesne. GW was up 14 after 20 minutes and continued to press the issue until the final buzzer. The Dukes never found their offense on 36% shooting while George Washington did their damage on 43% with 12 more looks at the basket leading to nine more baskets. Tyler Cavanaugh led the offensive explosion with 30 points and ten boards with Kevin Larsen adding 25 points and eleven rebounds. Alex Mitola tossed in 15 points and Paul Jorgensen chipped in with nine points and five assists.

The Massachusetts Minutemen haven’t had a problem putting the ball in the basket but stopping opponents has been. That trend continued in an 88-77 defeat at the hands of visiting St Bonaventure as a three point home dog Saturday. The Bonnies scorched the nets at nearly 60% including a 10-18 effort on threes and 22-25 mark at the stripe. This easily off set the 44% shooting and 19 more shots by UMass. The Minutemen received a game high 25 points and five yanks from Donte Clark on 8-17 from the floor with Antwan Space next in line with 14 points on 6-12. Tyler Bergantino added 13 pulls and five pulls on 6-7 while Jabarie Hinds and Trey Davis combined for 18 points.
The under is 20-7 in George Washington last 27 road games and the Colonialsare 4-11 ATS in their last 15 road games while the Colonials are 7-17 ATS in their last 24 vs. Atlantic 10. UMass are 0-8 ATS in their last 8 home games and are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 vs. Atlantic 10 while the over is 9-2 in their last 11 vs. Atlantic 10. The Colonials might be on the road but I’ll lay the basket…
