The St. Joseph’s Hawks battle the George Mason Patriots in Atlantic Ten action Wednesday.
The St. Joseph’s Hawks were not pegged as a challenger in the Atlantic Ten but at 12-3 they have opened a few eyes. The Hawks have won seven of nine after downing conference foe Rhode Island on Sunday as a three point favorite. This was close throughout with the Hawks pulling away in the final few minutes. The Rams held a slight 46%-44% shooting advantage but gave the ball away 15 times to give the Hawks five more looks at the basket that combined with a few more free throws to pull out the win. DeAndre Bembry gave St Joes a game high 22 points with seven rebounds and five helpers. Aaron Brown was right on his heels with 19 points while Isaiah Miles chipped in with ten points.

The George Mason Patriots are at the point in the season where they need to string the wins together because a 6-12 record spells trouble. The Patriots have dropped three in a row following an 81-75 defeat at Davidson as a 13 point road dog. The Patriots put up a fight with 48% marksmanship with the Wildcats checking in with almost 45% accuracy with a 12-7 edge on threes making this a winner for Davidson. Jalen Jenkins kept George Mason competitive with 20 points and nine rebounds on 9-12 while Marquise Moore added 15 points and eight boards. Jaire Grayer was next in line with 12 points and seven pulls while Otis Livingston II netted eleven points and handed out five assists.
St Joes are 8-1-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall and the under is 19-7 in their last 26 Wednesday games. George Mason are 1-12 ATS in their last 13 Wednesday games and the over is 9-3 in their last 12 vs. Atlantic 10 while the Patriots are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 vs. Atlantic 10. These teams haven’t really developed a rivalry yet but I don’t think the Hawks can afford a let down…
