The Delaware Blue Hens lost their 7th straight game and dropped to 5-10 (0-4 CAA) on the season after being defeated by the UNC Wilmington Seahawks, 85-67, this past Saturday. Delaware had little answers for UNC in the post and allowed the Seahawks to go on an 11-0 run early in the 2nd half in which the Blue Hens had no answers for. Delaware shot 39.1% from the field and 76.9% (30-39) from the FT line. The Blue Hens allowed the Seahawks to shoot 53.0% from the field and lost the turnover battle by a 20-11 margin. Leading the way for Delaware was Marvin King-Davis who had 29 points, 9 rebounds, and an assist. On the season, the Seahawks have been led by Kory Holden (16.2 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 4.4 apg), Marvin King-Davis (14.1 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 1.1 apg), and Cazmon Hayes (13.8 ppg, 6.0 rpg). Offensively, Delaware is averaging 66.1 ppg on 38.9% shooting from the field and 30.7% shooting from beyond the arc. The Blue Hens average 5.9 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 0.89. Defensively, Delaware is allowing their opponents to average 75.1 ppg on 43.9% shooting. The Blue Hens have a rebound margin of 3.8 and a turnover margin of -3.3.
The Tigers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Thursday games however, just 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS loss. The Blue Hens are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall.
Towson has picked up a couple of solid CAA wins early in conference play against William & Mary and UNC Wilmington, but has struggled a bit offensively against some of the better teams they’ve faced this year. Delaware is a young squad that has struggled as of late as 6 of their last 7 losses have come by at least double-digits. Towson has proven it can win on the road early on in conference play and as they have a strong defensive, I think the Tigers will be able to easily cover this small spread on the road against Delaware. Take Towson to cover.
