The Alabama-Birmingham Blazers look to continue their hot run at the Old Dominion Monarchs.
The Alabama-Birmingham Blazers might have the best combination of scoring and defense in the CUSA which is why they haven’t lost since November. The Blazers come off of an 87-80 win versus UTEP as a 10.5 point home favorite on Saturday. UAB took a nine point lead in to the half but couldn’t shake the pesky Miners who sank shots at 46.8%. Alabama-Birmingham responded with 38% from the floor but pulled this out with 13 more free throws. William Lee gave the Blazers 18 points and 12 rebounds with Chris Cokley adding 14 points and eleven boards. Nick Norton was next in line with 13 points and seven helpers while Dirk Williams netted eleven points and logged five yanks.

The Old Dominion Monarchs have the talent to say they are better then their 9-7 record. The Monarchs got off to a slow start before winning five straight before a 73-71 defeat at Southern Mississippi ended the hot streak. The Golden Eagles hit shots at 49% including an 11-26 from long range. The Monarchs connected at 43% but stayed competitive with 13 more looks at the basket. Trey Freeman poured in a game high 24 points and posted six helpers on 9-18 to pace the Monarchs attack. Aaron Bacote added 15 points and five yanks with Nik Baberaj tossing in nine. Brandan Stith chipped in with eight points and hauled in 12 rebounds as nine players scored overall.
UAB are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 Thursday games and the under is 41-20-1 in UAB last 62 road games. ODU are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall and the under is 8-3 in ODU last 11 vs. Conference USA while going 10-4 in ODU last 14 home games. The Blazers appear to be in mid season form so I’ll grab the points…
