The Line: UNC Greensboro Spartans -7 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans look to avoid the upset bid of the VMI Keydets Sunday.
The VMI Keydets had a big offense in season’s past and could use the scoring as they have been struggling to reach the mid 60’s. The Keydets have started SoCon play with four straight defeats after an 88-51 loss at East Tennessee State on Monday. The Buccaneers jumped to a 25 point lead after 20 minutes and were never challenged. ETSU sank shots at 49% including 15-31 on threes while the Keydets checked in at less then 35% and were 9-27 from beyond the arc. Julien Eleby was the only VMI player to reach double figures in scoring with ten points and five yanks with Trey chapman tossing in nine. Phillip Anglade and Tim Marshall netted eight points apiece but the Keydets fell short in most areas.

The North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans have been competitive but their record says they don’t win. The Spartans have dropped seven of eight after a disappointing 83-77, overtime loss at Western Carolina as UNCG squandered a big lead. In the end the Catamounts connected at 52% and sank a few more free throws and threes to squeeze by the 41.5% shooting Spartans who mustered eleven more looks at the basket but did not capitalize. The Spartans received 21 points from Marvin Smith with Francis Alonso next in line with 16 points. Demetrius Troy tossed in 14 points while RJ White added 13 points and nine rebounds.
UNCG are 6-18 ATS in their last 24 Sunday games and the under is 8-3-1 in UNCG last 12 Sunday games. The Spartans as a sizeable favorite is something that doesn’t happen often but I think they get this one…
