The UT Martin Skyhawks dropped to 10-9 (2-2 OVC West) on the season after being defeated by the Jacksonville State Gamecocks, 82-60, this past Saturday. Jacksonville State used a 7-0 run early in the 2nd half to take a 21-point lead and never trailed in the game. UT Martin struggled offensively as they shot just 36.2% from the field and 22.2% (4-18) from beyond the arc. The Skyhawks allowed the Gamecocks to shoot 50.9% from the field and was outrebounded by Jacksonville State by a 33-29 margin. Leading the way for UT Martin was Twymond Howard who had 15 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal. On the season, the Skyhawks have been led by Twymond Howard (13.8 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 2.1 apg), Myles Taylor (11.1 ppg, 5.4 rpg), and Alex Anderson (11.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.2 apg). Offensively, UT Martin is averaging 71.8 ppg on 43.3% shooting from the field and 34.7% shooting from beyond the arc. The Skyhawks average 8.1 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 0.92. Defensively, UT Martin is allowing their opponents to average 70.4 ppg on 43.6% shooting. The Skyhawks have a rebound margin of 1.9 and average 5.9 steals per game.

The Bruins are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 vs. OVC opponents and 15-7-1 ATS in their last 23 games overall. The Skyhawks are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. OVC opponents.

Belmont is at the head of the class in the OVC this season led by two of the better players in the conference in Craig Bradshaw and Evan Bradds. UT Martin had a great turnaround last season and although they started off the season just 2-7 on the season, the Skyhawks have turned it around nicely winning 8 of their last 10 games. Belmont is one of the better shooting teams in the country however, UT Martin should also have some success from beyond the arc and if they can limit the turnovers on the offensive end, I think UT Martin will be able to cover at home against the Bruins. Take UT Martin and the points.
