The Ball State Cardinals take the floor at the Eastern Michigan Eagles in a MAC tilt Saturday.
The Ball State Cardinals are off to a solid 12-6 start to the season but ultimately my gut says what happens in conference play is all that matters. The Cardinals are off to a 3-2 record in the MAC after falling to visiting Kent State 76-68 on Tuesday as a one point favorite. The Golden Flashes made a seven point first half lead hold up behind 51% shooting while BSU totaled ten more looks but that was negated with 40.7% marksmanship with Kent sinking eleven more free throws as well. Ryan Weber paced the Cardinals attack with 16 points and five yanks with Jeremie Tyler tossing in eleven points. Bo Calhoun and Trey Moses scored nine points apiece and grabbed ten and five rebounds respectively while Francis Kiapway and Franko House netted eight points each.

The Eastern Michigan Eagles are in the same boat as their counterparts in that their conference record matters more then anything else. The Eagles have dropped three of four to fall to 2-3 in the conference after a tight 92-88 defeat at conference heavyweight Akron where the Zips threw 58 points up in the second half to erase a six point deficit at the half. The Eagles burned the nets at 51.7% with the Zips hitting at 47% with eight more free throws and a 13-26 effort from distance winning it. Willie Mangum kept EMU alive with 22 points on 8-12 with Ty Toney tossing in 16. Tim Bond added 13 points and five assists while Brandon Nazione and Raven Lee combined for 21 points.
Ball State are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games and are 8-20 ATS in their last 28 games overall while going 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games. The over is 8-0-1 in Eastern Michigan last 9 Saturday games and is 20-5-1 in their last 26 overall while going 7-3 in their last 10 home games. The Eagles have been very good in this match up so….
