The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 11-7 (1-4 ACC) on the season after being defeated by the Virginia Tech Hokies, 78-77, this past Saturday. Georgia Tech held a 10-point lead with less than five minutes left to play however, allowed the Hokies to fight back and snap their 18 game ACC road losing streak. Georgia Tech shot 48.5% from the field but just 26.7% (4-15) from beyond the arc and 56.3% (9-16) from the FT line.  The Yellow Jackets allowed the Hokies to shoot 45.1% from the field and outrebounded Virginia Tech by a 38-31 margin. Leading the way for Georgia Tech was Marcus Georges-Hunt who had 27 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. On the season, the Yellow Jackets have been led by Marcus Georges-Hunt (15.4 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.3 apg), Charles Mitchell (12.2 ppg, 11.0 rpg), and Nick Jacobs (10.4 ppg, 5.7 rpg). Offensviely, Georgia Tech is averaging 76.6 ppg on 45.1% shooting from the field and 37.2% shooting from beyond the arc. The Yellow Jackets average 6.6 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.43. Defensively, Georgia Tech is allowing their opponents to average 71.2 ppg on 43.4% shooting. The Yellow Jackets average 4.6 blocks per game and have a turnover margin of 0.1.

The Cardinals are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win. The Yellow Jackets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss and 19-7- ATS in their last 27 games following a ATS loss.

The Louisville Cardinals are arguably the best defensive team in the country as they rank 3rd in the country in scoring defense and 1st in defensive FG %. Georgia Tech might be just 1-4 in ACC play but they’ve been very competitive against some of the better teams in the country and have a great duo in Marcus Georges-Hunt and Charles Mitchell. Louisville looked really solid in their recent victory, however, hasn’t been as strong on the road this season as they have just a 1-3 record in road games. Georgia Tech suffered a tough loss to Virginia Tech but this is still a team that beat Virginia on their home court and lost by just an average of 7 ppg in road games against UNC, Notre Dame, and Pittsburgh and I think they’ll bring a solid effort on Saturday to keep this one within the number. Take Georgia Tech and the points.
