After dropping three of four the Iowa State Cyclones have won three in a row to remain in the national rankings. The Cyclones are coming off of a 73-60 victory at TCU where they were up nine at the half where the Horned Fogs were held to just 39% shooting while burning the nets at 54% with advantages throughout the boxscore. Monte Morris gave the Cyclones a game high 18 points with six assists on 7-11 followed by a 15 point, five yank effort from Matt Thomas. Georges Niang and Deonte Burton combined for 21 points while Abdel Nader and Jameel McKay scored ten points apiece with McKay hauling in ten rebounds.

The #3 Kansas Jayhawks are gunning for the top spot in the national rankings which is nothing new for a team that is a perennial National Championship contender. The Jayhawks bounced back from a loss at Oklahoma State to down visiting Texas 76-67 on Saturday. A 46-32 second half run erased a five deficit despite getting outshot 48%-40% with six more shots, a 10-16 mark on threes and nine more free throws getting the job done. Perry Ellis pace the Jayhawks offense with 26 points on 9-16 with Wayne Selden Jr. adding 19 points and five yanks. Devonte’ Graham tossed in 14 points and posted six helpers while Frank Mason tossed in 13 points and snagged eight boards.
