The Colorado Buffaloes improved to 15-5 (4-3 PAC-12) on the season after defeating the Washington State Cougars, 75-70, this past Saturday. Colorado was able to get up by a 39-32 margin at halftime and got a big defensive stop by Josh Scott to secure the victory. Colorado shot 39.3% from the field and 84.6% (22-26) from the FT line. The Buffaloes allowed the cougars to shoot 49.1% from the field and won the turnover battle by a 10-6 margin. Leading the way for Colorado was George King who had 22 points and 5 rebounds. On the season, the Buffaloes have been led by Josh Scott (17.5 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.9 bpg), George King (14.4 ppg, 4.2 rpg), and Josh Fortune (10.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.7 apg). Offensively, Colorado is averaging 78.8 ppg on 44.3% shooting from the field and 39.6% shooting from beyond the arc. The Buffaloes average 7.9 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.11. Defensively, Colorado is holding their opponents to average 70.4 ppg on 42.0% shooting. The Buffaloes have a rebound margin of 9.8 and average 5.4 blocks per game.
The Cardinal are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 vs. PAC-12 opponents and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games. The Buffaloes are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games vs. a team with a losing road record.
Stanford has been alternating wins and losses since their big victory over Utah to start conference play and has struggled offensively in their three conference losses, averaging just 56.6 ppg. Colorado was able to split their two games in the state of Washington and has been outstanding on the offensive end this season ranking 65th in the country in scoring offensive and 19th in 3P FG%. Colorado was able to take down Stanford on the road eariler this season and I just don’t see the Cardinal being able to hang around the Buffaloes in the thin air of Boulder. I think Colorado pulls away in the 2nd half and covers this spread.
