The Charleston Cougars brace for a visit from Colonial rival the Northeastern Huskies on Thursday.
Although it’s far too early to push the panic button the Northeastern Huskies don’t want to let their recent poor play dictate the remainder of season. The Huskies have lost four of five with neither end of the floor taking control. NE is coming off of a 79-72 defeat to visiting Towson as a six point favorite on Saturday where a 19 point first half did them in. The Tigers held a 46%-43.5% shooting edge which added up to three more baskets and the win. David Walker tried to keep the Huskies afloat with a game high 32 points on 7-12 from the floor with five yanks with TJ Williams scoring 15 points on 5-7 shooting while five others contributed between 3-6 points.

The Charleston Cougars are looking for momentum to throw their name on the list of challengers in the CAA and the only way to do that is win. The Cougars will be looking to extend their winning streak to three games after squeezing by visiting Delaware 59-58 as an eight point favorite Saturday. The Blue Hens connected at almost 49% but the 37% shooting Cougars won hit seven more threes to barely negate the Hens six more free throws. The balanced Cougars attack received 16 points from Marquise Pointer with Jarrell Brantley adding 13 points and five yanks. Cameron Johnson and Evan Bailey each netted ten points with four others combining for ten points.
