USA TODAY Sports

The Hofstra Pride won their 2nd straight game and improved to 14-6 (6-2 CAA) on the season after defeating the William & Mary Tribe, 91-63, this past Sunday. Hofstra was outstanding offensively in the victory and outscored William & Mary by a 53-26 margin in the 2nd half to secure the victory. Hofstra shot 47.9% from the field and 40.5% (15-37) from beyond the arc. The Pride allowed the Tribe to shoot 43.1% from the field and won the turnover battle by a 15-5 margin. Leading the way for Hofstra was Juan’ya Green who had 30 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals. On the season, the Pride have been led by Juan’ya Green (18.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 7.0 apg, 1.9 spg), Ameen Tanksley (15.7 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.5 apg), and Rokas Gustys (12.6 ppg, 10.7 rpg). Offensively, Hofstra is averaging 81.3 ppg on 44.4% shooting from the field and 36.7% shooting from three-point range. The Pride averages 9.2 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.32. Defensively, Hofstra is allowing their opponents to average 74.9 ppg on 44.1% shooting. The Pride have a rebound margin of 3.1 and a turnover margin of 1.5.

The Phoenix are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a double-digit loss at home and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Pride are 5-14 ATS in their last 19 home games and 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games following a ATS win.

Despite their recent struggles, Elon has been better than expected as they’ve  been able to pull off a few upsets (@ James Madison, @ College of Charleston) using their offensive attack while relies on the three-pointer. Hofstra had some early struggles in the CAA play this season but has shown how dangerous they can be as of late and have arguably the best player in the conference in Juan’ya Green. Elon was able to put up a battle against Hofstra at home earlier this season, however, I think the Pride has found their rhythm and that Juan’ya Green will lead Hofstra to a double-digit victory at home in this one. I’m taking Hofstra to cover.
