The Idaho Vandals look to move up the Big Sky standings with a wing versus the Sacramento Hornets.
The Sacramento State Hornets are 1-5 in the Big Sky so their goal is to win as many conference games as possible and improve their position for the playoffs. The Hornets have lost five of six following an 81-63 loss to visiting Portland State as a four point favorite Saturday. The Vikings jumped to a 17 point edge after 20 minutes and then trade baskets the rest of the way. Sacramento State hit shots at 49% but that paled next to the Vikings 64% which was decisive. Justin Strings led the offense with 17 points and five yanks on 7-13 from the field with Marcus Graves adding 12 points and five pulls while Nick Hornsby chipped in with nine points and nine rebounds.

The Idaho Vandals have the talent to make some noise in the Big Sky but can’t afford lapses against teams they have to beat. We saw that last time out in a 70-68 loss at Montana State where they squandered a ten point lead entering the locker room. The Vandals burned the nets at 54% but gave the ball away 17 times to give the 41% shooting Bobcats 17 more looks at the basket and they were put to good use. The Vandals received 18 points and seven rebounds from Ty Egbert with Nick Blair adding 16 points and six pulls on a combined 12-20 from the floor. Chris Sarbaugh chipped in with nine points and six boards with four others totaling between 5-6 points.
The under is 7-1 in Sacramento State last 8 Thursday games and the Hornets are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 vs. Big Sky. The under is 12-4 in Idaho last 16 overall. Some players on both teams are questionable so please check back when a line is released…
