The Rider Broncs visit the Saint Peter’s Peacocks looking for a conference win Thursday.
I don’t thing anybody had a clear idea of what the Rider Broncs were going to do this season and their 7-13 record isn’t wowing anybody but the team has shown some positive signs lately. The Broncs have won three of four after routing Quinnipiac 75-52 with dominant play at both ends of the floor. The Bobcats were down ten at the break but Rider kept their foot on the gas until the final buzzer. Quinnipiac never found the shooting touch at less then 28% and a 6-29 mark on threes was a killer while the Broncs 45.5% accuracy added u p to seven more field goals. Kahlil Thomas and Jimmie Taylor scored 14 points apiece with Thomas hauling in 12 rebounds. Khalil Alford and Teddy Okereafor scored eleven and ten points while Kealen Ives and Xavier Lundy combined for 17 points.

The Saint Peter’s Peacocks haven’t been known for winning basketball but they are off to a 6-2 start in the MAAC which has certainly opened some eyes. The Peacocks saw their three game winning streak end in a 64-58 defeat at Iona as an eight point underdog. SPC trailed by 16 heading to the locker room before a spirited come back fell short. The Peacocks 31% shooting did them in and negated nine more looks which made the Gaels 42% accuracy a winning number. Antwon Portley and Quadir Welton scored 12 points apiece with Welton hauling in a game high 13 rebounds. Trevis Wyche added ten points, five yanks and seven boards while Chazz Patterson chipped in eight points and snagged eight boards.
The under is 9-2 in Rider last 11 Thursday games and is 10-3 in their last 13 road games while the Broncs are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall. Saint Peter’s are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 Thursday games. The road team is 24-9-2 ATS in the last 35 meetings and Rider are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings. The Peacocks are better but I just hate laying this many points…
