USA TODAY Sports

The Oakland Golden Grizzlies won their 2nd straight game and improved to 13-8 (5-3 Horizon) on the season after defeating the Milwaukee Panthers, 82-79, this past Monday. Oakland went on a 5-0 run late in the 2nd half to extend their lead to an 80-73 margin in which they were able to hang on for the win. Oakland shot 45.8% from the field and 64.7% (11-17) from beyond the arc. The Golden Grizzlies held the Panthers to 29.4% (10-34) shooting from beyond the arc and was outrebounded by Milwaukee by a 42-33 margin. Leading the way for Oakland was Kahlil Felder who had a double-double with 17 points, 12 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. On the season, the Golden Grizzlies have been led by Kahlil Felder (25.3 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 8.9 apg, 2.0 spg), Jalen Hayes (13.5 ppg, 8.2 rpg), and Percy Gibson (11.7 ppg, 6.3 rpg). Offensively, Oakland is averaging 86.1 ppg on 45.2% shooting from the field and 39.6% shooting from beyond the arc. The Golden Grizzlies average 9.0 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.26. Defensively, Oakland is allowing their opponents to average 80.1 ppg on 42.7% shooting. The Golden Grizzlies have a rebound margin of 1.9 and a turnover margin of 0.8.

The Raiders are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Friday games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss. The Golden Grizzlies are 20-5-1 ATS in their last 26 games following a straight up win and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Horizon League opponents.

Wright State is playing some great basketball lately and really has been outstanding on the defensive end this season as they rank 26th in the country in scoring defense. Oakland picked up a couple of solid road wins in their last two games against Milwaukee and Green Bay however, the Golden Grizzlies are a hard team to read as they’ve suffered surprising losses at home to Youngstown State and Northern Kentucky. Oakland has the best player in the Horizon in Kahlil Felder and one of the highest scoring offensives in the country, however, I think the Wright State defense will be able to slow down the Golden Grizzlies enough that the Raiders will keep this one within the number. I’m taking Wright State and the points.
