The Cal State Fullerton shoot for the season sweep of the UC Riverside Highlanders Saturday.
The UC Riverside Highlanders were called a dark horse by dome and could be living up to that label after a poor start in the Big West. The Highlanders have won three of four after going on the road and knocking off Cal Poly 72-68 as an eight point underdog. This one belonged to the offenses with UCR holding a narrow 50%-47% shooting advantage with five more makes at the line being the deciding factor. Taylor Johns was the Highlanders star with 21 points and eight boards on 8-18 with Jaylen Bland and Secean Johnson tossing in 15points each. Menno Dijkstra chipped in with eight points but this was really a three man attack.

The Cal State Fullerton Titans are in need of a reversal of fortunes as they are in the midst of a five game slide. The Titans have probably been more competitive then their record but that isn’t helping the win column and we saw that in a 69-64 defeat at UC Davis. Both teams sank shots at around 44% but 16 turnovers helped the Aggies to eleven more looks and five more baskets which was decisive. Khalil Ahmad led all scorers with 27 points and six pulls followed by an 18 point effort from Lionheart Leslie. Jamar Akoh added 14 points and ten rebounds but the Highlanders needed more scoring options.
UC Riverside are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games. CS Fullerton are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall and are 8-21-1 ATS in their last 30 Saturday games while going 5-12-2 ATS in their last 19 home games. The over is 8-0 in the last 8 meetings and the road team is 20-6 ATS in the last 26 meetings. I think Riverside has played their schedule a bit better so I lean to them…
