TV: ESPN3

The Kansas State Wildcats host the Ole Miss Rebels in non conference action on Saturday.

The Kansas State Wildcats don’t look as formidable as in past seasons but the can do everything well enough to pose a threat to anybody. Things have not been going the Wildcats way lately with defeats in six of eight following a 70-55 loss at West Virginia on Tuesday as a 10.5 point underdog. The Mountaineers led by nine after 20 minutes and maintained the pressure until the final buzzer. Even though the potent Mountaineers were held to 42.6% shooting the Wildcats could not make a comeback on 35% from the field with a 1-18 effort on threes killing them. Justin Edwards was the Wildcats lone double digit scorer with eleven points with Dean Wade adding nine points and eight rebounds while DJ Johnson tossed in eight points.

Kansas State Wildcats vs. Mississippi Rebels - 1/30/16 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Mississippi Rebels have a decent enough record at 13-7 but they had been struggling defensively during a four game slide before routing Auburn 80-63 on Wednesday where everything clicked. The Tigers were held to 37% from the floor despite a 13-22 performance from the stripe but the Rebels countered with 45% accuracy and a 14-20 mark from the  line. Ole Miss received a game high 24 points from Stefan Moody on 7-14 from the floor with Marcanvis Hyman right on his heels with 19 points and ten rebounds off the bench. Moody is the Rebels star and missed a game with a hamstring problem and the Rebels really need him on the floor to succeed.

The under is 8-3 in Mississippi last 11 road games and  is 7-3 in their last 10 non-conference games. Kansas State are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall and the under is 9-4 in their last 13 Saturday games. I think Kansas Sate rolls if they get going but I’m taking a chance with the points…
