Denver used a 10-0 run in the 2nd half to take a 42-28 lead and never let South Dakota get within 2nd digits for the remainder of the day. USA TODAY Sports

The Omaha Mavericks had their two game winning streak snapped and dropped to 14-8 (6-2 Summit) on the season after being defeated by the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, 87-76, this past Thursday. Omaha used a 17-4 run between halves to get back into the game but stalled offensively midway through the 2nd half which allowed South Dakota State to get the win. Omaha shot 43.1% from the field and 30.0% (6-20) from beyond the arc. The Mavericks allowed the Jackrabbits to shoot 59.6% from the field and 42.1% (8-19) from three-point range. Leading the way for Omaha was Tre’Shawn Thurman who had 13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist, and a block. On the season, the Mavericks have been led by Devin Patterson (17.4 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 3.0 apg, 1.8 spg), Jake White (17.0 ppg, 6.4 rpg), and Tre’Shawn Thurman (14.5 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.2 bpg). Offensively, Omaha is averaging 84.7 ppg on 46.8% shooting from the field and 30.4% shooting from beyond the arc. The Mavericks average 5.6 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.07. Defensively, Omaha is allowing their opponents to average 79.0 ppg on 44.1% shooting. The Mavericks average 9.6 steals per game and have a turnover ratio of 2.8.

The Coyotes are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 17-8 ATS in their last 25 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Mavericks are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss.

Both these teams like to put points on the board however, the Coyotes have really struggled offensively lately averaging just 66 ppg on their last five losses. Omaha has been solid at home this season and as I think they’ll be able to score at will against the Coyotes defense, I’m taking Omaha to cover this spread. Take Omaha to cover in this one.
