St. Bonaventure vs. Richmond - 1/31/16 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The St. Bonaventure Bonnies lost their 3rd consecutive game and dropped to 12-6 (4-3 A-10) on the season after being defeated by the VCU Rams, 84-76, this past Sunday. St. Bonaventure had a 34-33 at the break but struggled defensively in the 2nd half allowing the Rams to score 51 points and couldn’t hang on for the victory. St. Bonaventure shot 41.8% from the field and 30.0% (6-20) from beyond the arc. The Bonnies allowed the Rams to shoot 44.8% shooting from the field and loss the turnover battle by a 12-8 margin. Leading the way for St. Bonaventure was Marcus Posley who had 30 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and a steal. On the season, the Bonnies have been led by Marcus Posley (19.1 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 3.3 apg, 1.3 spg), Jaylen Adams (17.8 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 4.9 apg), and Dion Wright (15.9 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 1.1 apg, 1.1 spg). Offensively, St. Bonaventure is averaging 77.4 ppg on 44.1% shooting from the field and 36.0% shooting from beyond the arc. The Bonnies average 8.0 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.19. Defensively, St. Bonaventure is allowing their opponents to average 72.4 ppg on 43.7% shooting. The Bonnies average 3.8 blocks per game and have a turnover margin of 2.1.

The Spiders are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of great than .600 however, just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win. The Bonnies are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 vs. A-10 opponents and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games.

Richmond was able to pick up a huge road win against George Washington and has been outstanding offensively as they rank 38th in the country in scoring offense and 7th in the country in the FG %. St. Bonaventure wasn’t able to get a big win against Dayton or VCU however, this is still a very good team led by the great backcourt duo of Marcus Posley and Jaylen Adams. Richmond certainly has a lot of momentum heading into this game however, St. Bonaventure has been great at home and I think the Bonnies will be able to snap their losing streak against the Spiders.
