The Rhode Island Rams go on the road to oppose the Massachusetts Minutemen Tuesday.
The Rhode Island Rams have been having problems since they began their conference schedule which has taken steam away from a decent start. The Rams have dropped four of six after a 64-55 loss to visiting St. Joseph’s on Saturday as a 3.5 point favorite. The Hawks took a 30-19 lead in the first half and held off URI the rest of the way. St. Joes won on defense with a 38.5%-31.7% shooting edge with 12 more free throws securing the win. Jared Terrell tossed in a game high 22 points on 8-16 to lead Rhode Island with Jarvis Garrett adding 13 points and nine rebounds on 6-12. Eight players scored overall but the Rams needed another double figure scoring threat.

The Massachusetts Minutemen went from conference contender to rebuilding thanks to graduation of too much talent. The Minutemen have lost seven in a row following a 78-72, overtime defeat to Fordham as a four point home favorite. The Rams sank shots at 45.5% with UMass connecting at 41% which gave Fordham a few more baskets to snag a road win. The Minutemen received a game high 21 points from Trey Davis despites a 4-13 effort from the floor with Donte Clark right on his heels with 19 points on 6-14 shooting before fouling out in 30 minutes. Tyler Bergantino and CJ Anderson netted nine points apiece while snaring five and eleven rebounds respectively.
Rhode Island are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 road games. Massachusetts are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 home games and are 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 games overall while the over is 12-4 in their last 16 vs. Atlantic 10. The road team is 22-10 ATS in the last 32 meetings. Rhode Island laying points on the road seems weird to me…
