The UNLV Rebels visit The Pit to oppose Mountain West foe the New Mexico Lobos.
The UNLV Rebels and the entire Mountain West has been difficult to figure out at times but we do know the Rebels have enough talent to crack the top four in the conference when playing well. The Rebels struggled to score Saturday in a 67-52 loss to conference frontrunner San Diego State as a five point favorite. The Aztecs broke open a tight game with a 37-25 second half behind 45% shooting and a 19-3 edge at the stripe carrying the day while the Rebels 36.7% accuracy couldn’t keep up. Stephen Zimmerman Jr. led a trio of DD scorers with14 points and ten rebounds with Derrick Jones Jr. tossing in 12. Patrick McCaw scored ten while Ike Nwamu contributed ten points.

The New Mexico Lobos trail San Diego State for the top spot in the Mountain West but they seem to be in a groove right now. The Lobos have won three in a row after defeating Boise State 88-83 on the road as a 7.5 point underdog Saturday. UNM burned the nets at 56% from the floor while the Broncos were limited to 39% and three fewer field goals despite 14 more looks at the basket. Elijah Brown poured in a contest high 30 points with five yanks and five helpers on 7-15 while Tim Williams added 21 points and seven rebounds on 7-10. Cullen Neal tossed in 14 points while Sam Logwood chipped in with eight points and six boards although this was really a three man offense.
The under is 8-2 in UNLV last 10 road games and UNLV are 23-11 ATS in their last 34 games overall. New Mexico are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 Tuesday games and are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall while the Lobos are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 vs. Mountain West. I think we have to look at consistency here but nothing is guaranteed…
