USA TODAY Sports

The Hofstra Pride won their 4th consecutive game and improved to 16-6 (8-2 CAA) on the season after defeating the Drexel Dragons, 70-64, this past Saturday. Hofstra struggled offensively in the 1st and was down 30-24 at halftime but used a 22-5 run in the 2nd half to take the lead and get the win. Hofstra shot 43.5% from the field and 83.9% (26-31) from the FT line. The Pride held the Dragons to 32.4% shooting from the field and 32.0% (8-25) from beyond the arc. Leading the way for Hofstra was Juan’ya Green who had 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, and a block. On the season, the Pride have been led by Juan’ya Green (17.7 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 6.8 apg, 1.8 spg), Ameen Tanksley (15.5 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 1.5 spg), and Rokas Gustys (13.0 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 1.0 bpg). Offensively, Hofstra is averaging 80.1 ppg on 44.3% shooting from the field and 35.8% shooting from beyond the arc. The Pride is averaging 8.7 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.32. Defensively, Hofstra is allowing their opponents to average 73.9 ppg on 43.3% shooting. The Pride have a rebound margin of 2.5 and a turnover margin of 1.0.

The Seahawks are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Pride are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 game vs. a team with a winning % above .600 however, just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games.

This game should feature plenty of offense as both UNC Wilmington and Hofstra rank in the top 40 in college basketball in scoring offensive with averages above 80.0 ppg. UNC Wilmington has shown they’ve been able to play on the road in conference play as they are 4-1 with an impressive win over James Madison. Hofstra has two of the best players in the CAA in Juan’ya Green and Rokas Gusty however, haven’t looked great in their last two games against Elon and Drexel who have a combined 5-15 CAA record. If Hofstra and their stars are playing up to their potential, they are the toughest team in the CAA however, UNC Wilmington has been playing great on both sides of the ball and as they were able to win at Hofstra last season, I think the Seahawks will be able to at worst keep this one within the number. Take UNC Wilmington and the points.
