The South Dakota Coyotes lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 10-13 (2-7 Summit) on the season after being defeated by the Omaha Mavericks, 96-83, this past Saturday. South Dakota had no answers for the Mavericks on the defensive end and never had the lead throughout the 2nd half. South Dakota shot 43.5% from the field and just 13.3% (2-15) from beyond the arc. The Coyotes allowed the Mavericks to shoot 50.0% from the field and 40.0% (6-15) from three-point range. Leading the way for South Dakota was Tyler Flack who had 14 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, and a block. The Coyotes average 6.9 steals per game and have a turnover margin of 2.3.
The Mastodons are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 Thursday games and 38-13-2 ATS in their last 53 games overall. The Coyotes are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 90 points in their previous game.
IPFW has been outstanding this season and have been one of the most dangerous teams from beyond the arc as they rank 9th in the country in 3P FG% and 10th in three-pointers per game. South Dakota has lost six of their last seven games however, have been competitive at home this season with close losses to South Dakota State and Omaha. IPFW suffered a major setback when they lost Mo Evans for the season due to eligibility issues, however, as South Dakota has one of the worst defensives in the country, I just don't think South Dakota should be the favorites in this one. I'm taking IPFW to win.
