The Milwaukee Panthers improved to 15-7 (6-3 Horizon) on the season after defeating the Green Bay Phoenix, 95-94, this past Friday. Milwaukee had a 47-41 lead at halftime in this one and got some key buckets from Jordan Johnson late in the game to hang on for the victory. Milwaukee shot 52.5% from the field and 38.5% (10-26) from beyond the arc. The Panthers allowed the Phoenix to shoot 63.3% from the field and 43.8% (7-16) from three-point range. Leading the way for Milwaukee was Jordan Johnson who had 17 points, 8 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, and an assist. On the season, the Panthers have been led by Matt Tiby (15.0 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 2.4 apg), Akeem Springs (14.4 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.7 apg), and Jordan Johnson (12.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 8.0 apg). The Wright State Raiders lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 13-10 (7-3 Horizon) on the season after being defeated by the Detroit Titans, 75-68, this past Sunday. Wright State had a 35-29 at halftime but didn’t have many answers on the defensive end in the 2nd half and allowed Detroit to fight back and get the comeback victory. Wright State shot 54.9% from the field and was outrebounded by Detroit by a 31-21 margin. The Raiders allowed the Titans to shoot 47.6% from the field and 43.8% (7-16) from beyond the arc. Leading the way for Wright State was JT Yoho who had 31 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and a steal. On the season, the Raiders have been led by JT Yoho (13.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.3 apg), Mark Alstork (12.7 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.2 apg), and Joe Thomasson (10.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.4 apg). Offensively, Wright State is averaging 67.4 ppg on 44.3% shooting from the field and 36.9% shooting from beyond the arc. The Raiders average 7.5 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.10. Defensively, Wright State is holding their opponents to an average of 65.4 ppg on 42.2% shooting. The Raiders have a rebound margin of -3.5 and a turnover margin of 1.4.
The Panthers are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 road games however, just 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Raiders are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games and 4-11-1 ATS in their last 16 games following a ATS loss.
Milwaukee was able to pick up a nice win at home against Green Bay however, have struggled against the top teams in the Horizon this season as they are 0-3 against the top-3 teams currently in the Horizon. Wright State struggled defensively in their last two games on the road as they allowed Oakland and Detroit to average 82 ppg against them however, have been outstanding at home this season posting a 10-1 record. Milwaukee lost a close 84-82 battle in OT at home against Wright State earlier this season and although the Panthers have played well on the road, I think Wright State will snap their losing streak in this one and does enough offensively to cover the spread. Take Wright State to cover.
