USA TODAY Sports

The Drake Bulldogs dropped to 6-17 (1-10 MVC) on the season after being defeated by the Indiana State Sycamores, 63-56, this past Tuesday. Drake was up by a 28-26 margin at halftime but allowed Indiana State to go on a 10-0 run in the 2nd half to put this one out of reach for the Bulldogs. Drake shot 32.8% from the field and 38.9% (7-18) from beyond the arc in the loss. The Bulldogs allowed the Sycamores to shoot 40.0% from the field and loss the turnover battle by a 13-10 margin. Leading the way for Drake was Reed Timmer who had 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals. On the season, the Bulldogs have been led by Reed Timmer (17.5 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.7 apg), Kale Abrahamson (12.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.1 apg), and Graham Woodward (11.7 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 3.0 apg). Offensively, Drake is averaging 69.0 ppg on 45.5% shooting from the field and 40.4% shooting from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs average 7.5 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 0.90. Defensively, Drake is allowing their opponents to average 72.0 ppg on 45.1% shooting. The Bulldogs have a rebound margin of 0.3 and a turnover margin of -3.5.

The Panthers are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 however, just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Saturday games. The Bulldogs are 20-42-2 ATS in their last 64 Saturday games and just 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games overall.

Northern Iowa was able to pick up a big conference win against Evansville and is once again one of the better shooting teams in the country as they rank in the top-75 in the country in both FG% & 3P FG%. Drake is a solid shooting team but has struggled with turnovers throughout the season. Northern Iowa had no problem with Drake at home earlier this season but Drake has keep their games competitive as of late, and as the Panthers are just 3-7 on the road this season, I think the Bulldogs will be able to keep this one within this large number. Take Drake and the points.
