The Florida International Golden Panthers welcome the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners to the Sunshine State.
The Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners are not going to challenge in the CUSA so their hopes rest on the conference postseason. The Roadrunners have lost seven in a row with their defense having to shoulder most of the problems. UTSA fell to Florida Atlantic 79-73 on Thursday night as a 6.5 point underdog as a ten point halftime deficit was too much to overcome. In the end the Owls 55.6% was too much for the Roadrunners 46% marksmanship in a rather even boxscore otherwise. Ryan Bowie gave Texas-San Antonio 23 points and eight rebounds with Christian Wilson netting 22 points on 8-20. Nick Billingsley chipped in with eight points while six others combined for 20 points.

I think the Florida International Golden Panthers are better then their record but it’s not easy defending an 11-14 team. The Golden Panthers appeared to be a team to keep an eye on but they have been scrambling the past three weeks with five consecutive defeats although four have been by five points or less. FIU comes off an 84-74 defeat at the hands of visiting Texas El Paso as a four point favorite. The Miners were up eight at the break and held serve the rest of the way. The Golden Panthers sank shots at 49% but UTEP countered at 56% and nailed 11-19 from distance. Elmo Stephen led FIU with 18 points and five yanks with Donte McGill adding 16 points. Adrian Diaz and Daviyon Draper scored 12 points apiece and combined for 13 rebounds while Kimar Williams chipped in with eight points, five yanks and seven boards.
Florida International are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games. The Golden Panthers should be the choice here but the spread is so big I don’t think I would touch this…
