The Nebraska Omaha Mavericks look to keep their grip on third in the Summit when the North Dakota State Bison visit.
Many teams can make the claim that they will hold on to their top four position in whatever conference by taking care of their own business and the Nebraska Omaha Mavericks are one of them. The Mavericks currently are third in the Summit but don’t have room for error. The Mavericks had lost back to back contests before upending South Dakota State 96-92 as a 4.5 point home dog on Wednesday. The Jackrabbits sank shots at a hefty 52% but not as hefty as Nebraska Omaha’s 59% accuracy that combined with eight more free throws to win a shootout. Tra-Deon Hollins poured in a game high 28 to go along with nine rebounds and eight assists with Tre’Shawn Thurman adding 19 points and six pulls. Jake White tossed in 18 points and Devin Patterson rounded out the top scorers with 15 points.

The North Dakota State Bison are generally one of the teams to beat in the Summit and they do have the talent to win the conference but for now the goal is securing a spot in the top four. The Bison saw a chance at a three game winning streak go by the wayside in a 72-58 loss at South Dakota on Thursday night. The Coyotes were up nine at the half and never let up with 42% shooting and five more looks at the basket adding up to four more field goals versus the 39% accuracy of NDSU. Carlin Dupree led the Bison with 14 points on 5-7 from the floor with Khy Kabelllis tossing in 12 points. AJ Jacobson, Kory Brown and Dexter Werner combined for 25 points with Brown hauling in 13 rebounds.
North Dakota State are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 road games and are 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games overall. Nebraska Omaha are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games and are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 home games. I don’t know if Paul Miller is out for the Bison so there is uncertainty here…
