The Golden Lions of Arkansas-Pine Bluff visit the Alcorn State Braves in a SWAC tilt on Monday.
At 4-8 in the SWAC the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions will be looking for a full head of steam heading in to the conference playoffs. That means a boost at both ends of the floor will be needed with the team being outscored 72-56. The Golden Lions come off of a 66-58 defeat at Southern on Saturday where a seven point deficit at the half was too much to overcome. UAPB sank shots at less then 30 with a 4-22 effort from distance sealing their fate. The Jaguars countered with 47% shooting and eight more free throws to win it. Ghiavonni Robinson gave the Colden Lions a game high 17 points on 6-17 with Marcus Wallace tossing in 12 on 5-6 while Marquis Cunningham added eight points and a team high seven boards.

The Alcorn State Braves are one of the top teams in the conference at 9-3 as they try to solidify their spot in the standings. The surging Braves have won three in a row following a 72-71, overtime victory versus the visiting Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils. Both teams sank shots in the 44-45% range with the Delta Devils hitting a few more free throws with Alcorn State sinking more threes. Devonte Hampton led all scorers with 24 points and eight boards with Octavius Brown adding 16 points and 13 rebounds. Tamarico Wilson was next in line with 15 points with the top three accounting for all but 17 points.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games and are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall while the under is 7-3 in their last 10 Monday games. Neither team has won or lost big which makes me think the points are the way to go…
