The Miami Hurricanes can stay in the running for the ACC title with a win versus the Virginia Tech Hokies.
The Virginia Tech Hokies have played some very tough games in the ACC but this conference has been too tough to be a challenger. The Hokies have struggled the past several weeks with losses in six of seven after a 67-49 defeat at Virginia as a 15.5 underdog. The Cavaliers jumped to a 12 point lead heading to the locker room and were never in danger. The Hokies couldn’t find the shooters touch at 35.6% with the Cavaliers connecting at 49% for eight more field goals which was the obvious difference. Virginia Tech received 16 points on 4-5 from Justin Robinson with Chris Clarke tossing in eleven points while the rest of the team adding 22 points.

The Miami Hurricanes are right in the mix for the ACC regular season crown but they must continue to win with little room for error. The Hurricanes have been doing their part with wins in six of seven after escaping Florida State with a 67-65 victory on Sunday where they nearly squandered an eleven point first half lead. The Seminoles shot the ball well at 45.6% with the Canes countering at 38% which gave the Noles five more baskets. However Miami held a 12 point edge at the charity stripe to squeeze out the win. Sheldon McClellan gave the Hurricanes a game high 20 points with Davon Reed netting 14 points. Angel Rodriguez added eleven points and six assists while Tonye Jekiri tossed in eight points and snared nine rebounds.
Virginia Tech are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall and are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Wednesday games. The under is 11-3 in Miami last 14 vs. Atlantic Coast and the under is 10-3 in their last 13 overall while the Hurricanes are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games. I think that Miami can name the score if they play well but definitely not my type of game…
