USA TODAY Sports

The Delaware Blue Hens dropped to 6-19 (1-13 CAA) on the season after being defeated by the Hofstra Pride, 77-66, this past Saturday. Delaware was able to hang around with Hofstra as they were down just a point at halftime, however, struggled defensively in the 2nd half allowing the Pride to score 50 points in the loss. Delaware shot 41.3% from the field and 33.3% (7-21) from beyond the arc. The Blue Hens allowed the Pride to shoot 45.5% from the field and 42.3% (11-23) from three-point range. Leading the way for Delaware was Kory Holden who had 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists. On the season, the Blue Hens have been led by Kory Holden (17.8 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 4.1 apg), Marvin King-Davis (14.4 ppg, 9.2 rpg), and Cazmon Hayes (12.2 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.3 apg). Offensively, Delaware is averaging 67.5 ppg on 40.2% shooting from the field and 32.6% shooting from beyond the arc. The Blue Hens average 5.8 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 0.91. Defensively, Delaware is allowing their opponents to average 76.7 ppg on 44.0% shooting. The Blue Hens have a rebound margin of 1.3 and a turnover margin of -2.4.

The Cougars are 20-41 ATS in their last 61 games following a straight up win and 18-39-1 ATS in their last 58 games overall. The Blue Hens are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a double-digit loss at home however, just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games.

Charleston has won 6 of their last 8 games and always seem to be in games as they have the best defense in the conference that ranks 11th in scoring defense and 79th in turnover margin. Delaware has had a long season and although they’ve played well over their last two games, the Blue Hens still have one of the worst offenses in the country as they rank 289th in scoring offense and 323rd in FG %. Delaware was able to hang around with Charleston on the road, losing a close 59-58 battle, and although I don’t think they’ll get the win, I think this one will be another low scoring game in which I’m going to want the points in the end. Take Delaware and the points.
