The Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans have their eyes set on hanging on to first when they visit the Georgia State Panthers.
The Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans can taste the Sun Belt title but they know there is plenty of season left and nothing is guaranteed. The Trojans have shown no signs of letting up with wins in eight of ten after downing second place UL Lafayette 68-64 on the road Saturday as a 3.5 point underdog. UALR was up by eleven at the break and held off a late Ragin’ Cajuns rally to win. The Trojans fired away at 53% with ULL connecting at 43% for a difference of six baskets. Arkansas-Little Rock leaned on Josh Hagins and his 18 points on 7-11 with Roger Woods tossing in 14 points on 5-8. Jermaine Rutley added nine points and six pulls while Mareik Isom and Daniel Green chipped in with seven points apiece.

The Georgia State Panthers were a powerhouse in the Sun Belt the past few seasons but not this year. The Panthers have searching for momentum but instead have lost six of seven where neither end of the floor has stood out. The offense stalled in a 54-53 loss at Troy on Saturday as a 3.5 point favorite. The Trojans sank shots at under 38% with the Panthers staying competitive at 34.5% because of ten more looks at the basket. Jeremy Hollowell poured in a game high 22 points and posted five yanks with Markus Crider adding 13 points and 13 rebounds. TJ Shipes chipped in with eight points but Georgia State needed more scoring options.
UALR are 21-6 ATS in their last 27 Thursday games and the under is 11-4 in UALR last 15 road games. Georgia State are 0-9 ATS in their last 9 games overall and are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 vs. Sun Belt while the over is 7-3 in their last 10 home games. The numbers say Trojans even though this looks about a basket too much…
