TV:

The Idaho Vandals go on the road to oppose the Portland State Vikings for the second time.

The Idaho Vandals have been playing well the past few weeks and have positioned themselves for a top four run in the Big Sky. The Vandals have won four of five after downing visiting North Dakota 65-64 on Saturday behind 51% shooting although 16 turnovers helped the Fighting Hawks to nine more looks at the basket and made their 40.7% from the floor competitive. The Vandals received eleven points each from Chad Sherwood and Nahshon George with George snaring seven boards with Nick Blair and Perrion Callandret scoring nine points each. Arkadiy Mkrtychyan and Chris Sarbaugh added eight points and combined for 14 rebounds in a very balanced offensive effort.

Portland State Vikings vs. Idaho Vandals - 2/18/16 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Portland State Vikings are dependent on their offense because they tend to allow points. That trend has been obvious in losing five of six capped off by an 87-78 defeat at Weber State as a 12.5 point underdog. The Vikings trailed by 14 after 20 minutes but a second half rally fell well off the mark. The Wildcats 57% from the floor along with more threes and free throws simply was better in all areas against the Vikings 47.7% marksmanship. Cameron Forte was the Vikings best offensive option with 17 points and seven boards followed by a 12 point effort from Donivine Stewart. Calaen Robinson netted 15 points while Zach Gengler, Isaiah Pineiro and De’Sean Parsons each tossed in nine points.

The under is 6-2 in Idaho last 8 overall and  is 6-2 in their last 8 vs. Big Sky while the Vandals are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. Portland State are 1-6 ATS in their last 8 Thursday games. Idaho plays close games, win or lose so I’ll take the points although there are Vandals injuries…
