The Line: College of Charleston Cougars -1 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The North Carolina-Wilmington Seahawks maintain the top spot in the CAA with a win at the Charleston Cougars.
The North Carolina-Wilmington Seahawks had not lost in over a month but all good things must come to an end and they did in an 87-68 rout at William and Mary as a four point road dog on Thursday. The Tribe broke open a four point contest with a 45-31 second half run behind 49% from the floor including a 10-19 performance from beyond the arc and 17 more free throws. The Seahawks 40% accuracy and 9-30 mark on threes was just not enough to stay competitive. Chris Flemmings paced the Seahawks with 18 points with Denzel Ingram adding 12 points and five assists. Marcus Bryan and CJ Gettys scored eight points apiece but the offense didn’t go to the line enough and struggled from the perimeter.

The Charleston Cougars are in the middle of the pack in the Colonial and have a legitimate shot at a postseason tournament somewhere unless they win the conference playoffs. The Cougars fell to 8-7 in the conference and have lost two of three after a 62-59 defeat at Delaware Thursday as a 4.5 favorite. CofC tried to come back from an eleven point first half deficit but 35% from the floor wasn’t good enough with the Blue Hens connecting at 44% with five more makes at the stripe. Charleston received 15 points on 6-13 from Cameron Johnson with Jeff Brantley adding 13 points and nine rebounds. Marquise Pointer was next in line with eleven points and six pulls with Nick Harris chipping in with eight points.
The over is 8-2 in UNCW last 10 Saturday games and 9-3 in their last 12 road games while the Seahawks are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The under is 7-1 in COFC last 8 home games and COFC are 5-24 ATS in their last 29 Saturday games while the under is 39-16 in their last 55 overall. The Seahawks are rolling and need this win but the line is fishy…
