The James Madison Dukes lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 19-9 (9-6 CAA) on the season after being defeated by the Northeastern Huskies, 95-94 in triple OT, this past Thursday. James Madison was allowed Northeastern to hit a three-pointer at the end of regulation to force OT and although the Dukes were better from the field, the Huskies were able to get the big road win with their success at the FT line. James Madison shot 47.4% from the field and 32.0% (8-25) from beyond the arc. The Dukes held the Huskies to just 37.3% shooting from the field and 28.6% (10-35) from beyond the arc, however, Northeastern was able to shoot 85.4% (35-41) from the FT line. Leading the way for James Madison was Yohanny Dalembert who had a double-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds, 5 blocks and 2 assists. On the season, the Dukes have been led by Ron Curry (16.9 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.0 spg), Shakir Brown (11.6 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 1.4 apg), and Yohanny Dalembert (9.3 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 1.2 bpg). Offensively, James Madison is averaging 76.0 ppg on 45.3% shooting from the field and 36.7% shooting from beyond the arc. The Dukes average 8.8 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.09. Defensively, James Madison is holding their opponents to an average of 69.1 ppg on 39.3% shooting. The Dukes have a rebound margin of 3.6 and a turnover margin of -1.2.
The Blue Hens are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 however, just 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 road games. The Dukes are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Saturday games.
Delaware has won 2 of their last 3 games and have been great defensively in that span as they are holding their opponents to just 65.3 ppg. James Madison lost a tough one to Northeastern and continue to be plagued by some inconsistent play and turnovers. Delaware has played well as of late however, this is still a team that is just 2-13 on the road this season while letting their opponents average 80.3 ppg and as I think the James Madison defense will be able to limit the Blue Hens on the offensive end, I think James Madison rebounds with a big double-digit win at home in this one. Take James Madison to cover.
