The UCLA Bruins dropped to 14-12 (5-8 PAC 12) on the season after being defeated by the Utah Utes, 75-73, this past Thursday. UCLA was able to come back from a 14-point deficit to make it a 70-68 Utah lead, but allowed Utah to get a big three-pointer by Brandon Taylor with 15 seconds remaining which put the game out of reach for the Bruins. UCLA shot 47.5% from the field and 47.8% (11-23) from beyond the arc in the loss. The Bruins allowed the Utes to shoot 50.0% from the field and 40.9% (9-22) from three-point range. Leading the way for UCLA was Isaac Hamilton who had 25 points, 5 rebounds, and an assist. On the season, the Bruins have been led by Isaac Hamilton (16.8 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.2 apg), Bryce Alford (16.2 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 5.4 apg), and Tony Parker (12.5 ppg, 8.9 rpg). Offensively, UCLA is averaging 78.8 ppg on 45.8% shooting from the field and 36.3% shooting from beyond the arc. The Bruins average 6.1 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.24. Defensively, UCLA is allowing their opponents to average 76.6 ppg on 42.4% shooting. The Bruins have a rebound margin of 3.7 and a turnover margin of -1.0.
The Buffaloes are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Bruins are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games.
Colorado let a great opportunity slip through their fingers in their recent loss at USC and although they are an outstanding rebounding team, the Buffaloes need to improve on limiting their turnovers if they are going to be able to win road games in the PAC 12. UCLA has lost 5 of their last 7 games and have really struggled defensively in those losses as they’ve allowed their opponents to average 81.6 ppg. UCLA is 10-4 at Pauley Pavilion this season however, Colorado is a solid offensive team that just got their star, Josh Scott, back from injury and I think the Colorado will be able to keep this one close enough to cover with the points. Take Colorado and the points.
