The North Dakota State Bison have generally been a challenger in the Summit League but a top four finish is the best they can do unless the conference playoffs are won. The defensive minded Jackrabbits have won back to back contests following a 63-59 victory versus visiting Indiana-Purdue as a 7.5 point favorite Saturday. The Jaguars were held to 36% shooting with NDSU connecting at 42% with nine more free throws making the difference. North Dakota State received 17 points on 7-15 with Kory Brown adding 14 points, 12 rebounds and six helpers. Carlin Dupree and Dexter Werner combined for 20 points as the offense controlled the pace and the defense won it.

The South Dakota Jackrabbits and their big offense currently reside in second although it’s what happens in the conference postseason that matters. The Jackrabbits have won two of three after routing Western Illinois 87-67 as a 7.5 point road favorite on Saturday. SDSU put this one away early with an 18 point lead heading to the locker room behind 43.6% shooting and 17 more free throws to easily outdistance the 37% shooting Leathernecks. Mike Daum paced the Jackrabbits scoring with 18 points and five yanks on 5-6 with Deondre Parks adding 17 points and seven boards. George Marshall followed with 13 points and eight rebounds while Tevin King and Ian Theisen netted nine points apiece.
