The Citadel Bulldogs take their high powered offense on the road to face the North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans.
The Citadel Bulldogs can score like no other team in the land but their 10-19 record says opponents are doing even more damage on the scoreboard. The Bulldogs have dropped seven in a row following a 102-97 shootout defeat at the hands of visiting Western Carolina as a four point home dog on Saturday. The Catamounts burned the nets at 58.7% with the Citadel staying competitive on 39% thanks to 14 more looks at the basket that included 13 threes. Quinton Marshall was the Bulldogs best scoring option with 22 points and six pulls on 8-11 with Derrick Henry and Quayson Williams netting 19 points apiece. Warren Sledge tossed in nine while Matt Frierson and Tom Koopman scored eight points each.

With just two games remaining on the schedule the North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans are not going anywhere in the SoCon. Having said that the Spartans have enough talent to worry opponents in the conference playoffs and have a puncher’s chance. UNCG have won three in a row after upsetting league leader Chattanooga 79-64 as a 12.5 point underdog as they took an early lead and built on it. The Mocs connected at 35% with eleven more attempts but that wasn’t enough to compete with the Spartans 67% marksmanship. RJ White gave UNCG a game high 26 points on 11-12 with Diante Baldwin adding 22 points and five assists. Francis Alonso tossed in 14 points with eight players scoring overall.
The Citadel are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games overall and are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 vs. Southern while the over is 36-16 in their last 52 overall. UNCG are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games. For now I’ll back the Spartans but waiting for the total…
