Summit leader IUPU-Ft. Wayne travel to the Western Illinois Leathernecks on Thursday night.
The IUPU-Ft. Wayne Mastodons own the top spot in the Summit League with their potent offense leading the way. The Mastodons have won five of six after outscoring Nebraska Omaha 94-90 on Saturday as they made a ten point first half lead stand up as a three point home favorite. The Mavericks won the shooting battle 49%-46% but the Mastodons dominated the foul line 24-10 which was the deciding factor. DeAngelo Stewart paced Ft. Wayne with 23 points on 9-14 with Michael Calder and John Konchur scoring 19 points apiece with Konchur grabbing 14 rebounds. Joe Reed chipped in with ten points with just one other player scoring.

The Western Illinois Leathernecks are at the bottom of the Summit League standings with an overall record of 9-16 with the team scoring and allowing 70 points. The Leathernecks have dropped eight of ten with neither end of the floor getting on the same page capped off by an 87-67 defeat at the hands of visiting South Dakota State as a 7.5 point home dog. WIU trailed by 18 after 20 minutes and was unable to cut in to the deficit with 37% shooting and a 7-25 effort on threes unable to hang with the Jackrabbits 43.6% accuracy and 33-16 advantage at the stripe. Garrett Covington was the Leathernecks big offensive gun with 23 points on 8-17. Mike Miklusak tossed in 12 while Jabari Sandifer and JC Fuller netted eight points apiece.
