The Hornets are coming off of a 73-68 victory at Prairie View behind a late second half spurt. ASU held a 46%-43% edge in marksmanship with three more baskets and a 10-21 mark from long range. Jamel Waters led four double digit scorers with 15 points and five yanks with Torloft Thomas dropping 14 points. Tony Armstrong and Corvon Butler combined for 21 points and 14 rebounds while Terrance LeFlore chipped in with nine points and posted another five helpers.

The Texas Southern Tigers are going to win the SWAC as they stand at 14-1 and have seldom been challenged. After losing their only conference game at Prairie View the Tigers have ripped off five consecutive victories. The Tigers are coming off of a 77-54 rout of visiting Alabama A&M behind a 48-23 second half run that erased a two point deficit. The Bulldogs never found their offense at 38% but the Tigers found theirs at nearly 51% with 13 more shots that equaled 13 more baskets. Orlando Coleman paced the Tigers with 21 points and 12 rebounds with Chris Thomas adding 15 points and ten assists. Jose Rodriguez netted 13 points while Derrick Griffin added 12 points and another ten boards.
