The Akron Zips looked like the team to beat a few short weeks ago but defeats in three of four showed us some chinks in the armor. The Zips looked more like themselves Saturday in an 89-54 rout of visiting Bowling Green as a nine point favorite. A 26 point lead heading to the locker room ended this with the teams trading baskets over the final 20 minutes. The Zips 47.7%-41% edge in marksmanship resulted in eleven more baskets on 17 more shots which included a 19-41 mark on threes. Reggie McAdams was the Zips top gun with 29 points on 10-13 with Kwan Cheatham Jr. adding16 points and five yanks on 5-6 while Antino Johnson, Jake Kretzer and Josh Williams combined for 28 points.
The over is 11-3 in Ohio last 14 road games. The over is 7-0-1 in Akron last 8 Tuesday games and is 8-1-1 in their last 10 overall while going 8-1-1 in their last 10 vs. Mid-American. Ohio are 2-8 ATS in the last 10 meetings and the underdog is 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings. I have trouble with Ohio games so when I say they should be competitive take that with a grain of salt…
