The South Carolina Upstate Spartans face the top ranked North Florida Ospreys in the A-Sun quarters.
The South Carolina Upstate Spartans finished 7th in the Atlantic Sun and likely missed out on a better seed thanks to losses in five of seven to close the regular season. The 10-21 Spartans struggled at the defensive end of the floor as they were outscored 78-73 so points were generally needed to succeed. The Spartans had scoring throughout their lineup with real go to guy that was heavily relied on. Deion Holmes and center Michael Buchanan were the lone double digit scorers at 12 points and 11.6 points apiece with a team high six rebounds. Josh Cuthbertson, Mike Cunningham and Damian Goodwin were all around 9-10 points with five others averaging between 5-6 points so many saw the floor and all contributed.

The North Florida Osprey are trying to become the new face of the Atlantic Sun as they own the top spot and gun for another title. The 21-10 Osprey appeared to be fading a few short weeks ago but rebounded to close the year with three wins in a row. UNT specialized in lighting up the scoreboard at over 85 points which came in handy with 79 points allowed. North Florida featured five double digit scorers with Dallas Moore leading the way with almost 20 points and four pulls on 51%. Beau Beech was next in line with over 15 points and six boards while Demarcus Daniels, Trent Mackey and Chris Davenport averaged between 12-13 points so opposing defenses could not key on stopping one or two players.
South Carolina Upstate are 5-1-2 ATS in their last 8 road games. North Florida has been able to compete well out of conference against some bigger names. All I can say here is that the can name their score if they want to but do they care?
