The Duquesne Dukes lost their 7th straight game and dropped to 15-14 (5-11 A-10) on the season after being defeated by the Richmond Spiders, 83-67, this past Saturday. Duquesne was down by a 42-32 margin at halftime and allowed Richmond to go a 12-4 run midway through the 2nd half to put the game out of reach. Duquesne shot 40.0% from the field and 35.7% (10-28) from beyond the arc. The Dukes allowed the Spiders to shoot 52.7% from the field and 50.0% (11-22) from three-point range. Leading the way for Duquesne was Micah Mason who had 15 points, 7 assists, and 2 rebounds. On the season, the Dukes have been led by Micah Mason (17.7 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 4.6 apg, 1.0 spg), Derrick Colter (17.7 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 4.2 apg), and L.G. Gill (9.8 ppg, 6.4 rpg). Offensively, Duquesne is averaging 79.0 ppg on 45.7% shooting from the field and 36.0% shooting from beyond the arc. The Dukes average 9.3 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.13. Defensively, Duquesne is allowing their opponents to average 77.5 ppg on 41.3% shooting. The Dukes have a rebound margin of 2.0 and have a turnover margin of -2.0.
The Rams are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall however, just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up win. The Dukes are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a double-digit loss and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss.
Fordham has had a nice season under first year head coach Jeff Neubauer as although the Rams are just 6-10 in conference play, they were picked by most people to be the worst team in the A-10 this season. Duquesne continues to struggled on the defensive end as during their seven game losing streak the Dukes are allowing their opponents to average 85.4 ppg. Although Fordham is playing well as of late, the Rams are just 2-7 away from home this season averaging just 64.0 ppg on the road and as the Dukes have been averaging 82.5 ppg at home, I think Duquesne will snap their losing streak and cover this small spread.
