The Line: Radford Highlanders -9 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Radford Highlanders host the Presbyterian Blue Hose in an opening round Big South tilt.
The Presbyterian Blue Hose are one of the lesser known squads in the Big South and are trying to shock the conference as the #10 seed. The Blue Hose averaged 68 points which isn’t a lot by Big South standards and gave up 73 which explains their 5-13 league record and 10-19 mark overall. The positive is Presbyterian won two of three to end the year with the offense scoring in the 70’s so perhaps that carries over because the key will be scoring. DeSean Murray was the team star with 20 points and over seven rebounds. He was the only double digit scorer so the question is will eight point scorers Reggie Dillard and Markus Terry need to pickup some of the scoring load and they are the most likely to help out.

The #7 Radford Highlanders are one of the better known teams in the conference but a 16-14 record including a 9-9 mark in the Big South have them in an opening round game which isn’t where you want to be. For the most part the Highlanders won when expected and beat the teams below them as they outscored they scored and gave up around 73 points. Cameron Jones and Rashun Davis are the only players to score in double figures at 15 points and 14 points respectively so this pair as to meet and hopefully exceed this production or Radford will be in trouble. The remainder of the team is score by committee and Ed Polite is the guy that could step up and exceed his nine points and team high 7.4 rebounds.
Presbyterian are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 neutral site games and are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games overall. The over is 11-3 in Radford last 14 overall. I see some numbers that favor each team and the Blue Hose are a tough sell so I’ll be sitting on the sideline…
