The Line: College of Charleston Cougars -9 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Delaware Blue Hens travel to the Charleston Cougars in a CAA opening round match up.
If you listened to the experts the Delaware Blue Hens were far from a favorite but they were a team to watch. Instead the Blue Hens struggled at both ends of the floor as they were outscored 76-66 which are tough numbers to make work. The Hens were 2-16 in the Colonial for last and 7-22 overall with defeats in eight of ten to end the year. UD will only win in the playoffs if the defense beefs up and keeps opponents around 70 points or so because the offense does have potential. If Delaware is to do something offensively Kory Holden and his 17 points have to be there as well as Marvin King-Davis with his nearly 15 points and nine rebounds. This pair has to produce and the duo of Cazmon Hayes (11 ppg) and Anthony Mosley (10 ppg) have to be the ones who step up.

The Charleston Cougars were pretty good in non conference play with an overall record of 16-13 with an 8-10 mark in the Colonial dragging them down. The Cougars best chance of winning is when they slow down the pace and keep the score well below the 70 point mark. Overall CofC outscored opponents 65-62 and did well defensively the last two weeks but were still 0-4 to end the season with the offense mustering a high of 62 points in that stretch. The team is not going to change a thing at this point and will play in the half court and try to control the scoreboard. The Cougars still need points and Canyon Barry is the go to guy at nearly 20 points with Cameron Johnson netting 12. Marquise Pointer and Jarrell Brantley score around 11.5 points and none of the top four can afford an off night.
The under is 8-1 in COFC last 9 neutral site games and is 41-17 in their last 58 overall while the Cougars are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Friday games. Delaware is my team but I think I might be reaching here because they are so disappointing…
