USA TODAY Sports

The Fordham Rams won their 3rd consecutive game and improved to 16-12 (7-10 A-10) on the season after defeating the Duquesne Dukes, 78-69, this past Wednesday. Fordham allowed the Dukes to fight back and take the lead in the 2nd half after being up by a 45-36 margin at halftime, however, closed out the game on a 20-10 run to pick up victory. Fordham was great on the offensive end as they shot 46.2% from the field and 52.0% (13-25) from beyond the arc. The Rams allowed the Dukes to shoot 51.0% from the field and outrebounded Duquesne by a 34-26 margin. Leading the way for Fordham was Ryan Rhoomes who had a double-double with 15 points, 17 rebounds, and an assist. On the season, the Rams have been led by Ryan Rhoomes (14.1 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 1.3 apg, 1.8 bpg), Mandell Thomas (13.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.1 apg, 2.3 spg), and Joseph Chartouny (10.9 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 6.0 apg, 2.1 spg). Offensively, Fordham is averaging 72.2 ppg on 45.1% shooting from the field and 35.2% shooting from beyond the arc. The Rams average 7.9 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.11. Defensively, Fordham is holding their opponents to an average of 68.9 ppg on 44.4% shooting. The Rams have a rebound margin of 2.1 and average 8.5 steals per game.

The Rams are 4-11-2 ATS in their last 17 games following a straight up win and 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 road games. The Rams are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

Rhode Island followed up their upset win against Dayton on the road with a great defensive performance against the UMass and seem to be heading in the right direction going into the A-10 conference tournament. Fordham has been a pleasant surprise this season posting an overall record above .500 along with an impressive 13-4 home record. Fordham is certainly headed in the right direction under new head coach, Jeff Neubauer, but I really like how the Rams are playing right now and after showing that their defense can get it done on the road at Dayton, I think Rhode Island can cover this small road spread. Take Rhode Island to cover.
