The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns host the Georgia Southern Eagles with 4th in the Sun Belt still up for grabs.
The Georgia Southern Eagles are one game out of 4th in the Sun Belt and can either tie for the spot or finish out of the money. The Eagles could be tied with ULL but suffered an 83-76 defeat at UL Monroe on Wednesday that ended a two game winning streak. GSO trailed by just four at the half but could not make a comeback as an 8.5 point underdog with 38% shooting doing them in despite a 16-30 mark on threes because the Warhawks 54% accuracy totaled ten more field goals. Mike Hughes gave the Eagles 24 points with Tookie Brown adding 17 point, five yanks and five assists. Ike Smith tossed in 14 points and snagged six boards while Jake Allsmiller chipped in 12 points.

The Louisiana Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns were supposed to challenge for the Sun Belt crown but instead will attempt to secure 4th with a win on the final day of the regular season. The Ragin’ Cajuns have missed out on several opportunities to move higher in the standings thanks to defeats in five of six following a 72-69 loss to visiting Georgia State as an 8.5 point favorite. ULL trailed by eight at the half and a late rally came up short with the Panthers 50%-45% shooting advantage accounting for three more field goals. Bryce Washington led UL Lafayette with 21 points and ten rebounds with Jay Wright tossing in 16. Steven Wronkoski and Shawn Long combined for 21 points while Jonathan Stove chipped in with eight.
The over is 11-2 in Georgia Southern last 13 road games and the Eagles are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games overall while going 13-3 ATS in their last 16 vs. Sun Belt. I think the Ragin’ Cajuns win at home but I’m hesitant to lay all the chalk…
