The Colorado Buffaloes lost a heartbreaker against Utah to finish their regular season as they blew a big 2nd half lead, however, the Buffaloes have had an outstanding season finishing the regular season with a 21-10 record and earned the 5-seed with a 10-8 conference record. Colorado was one of the best rebounding teams in the Pac-12 this season and was outstanding from beyond the arc as they ranked 12th in the country in 3P-FG%. On the season, leading the way for Colorado was Josh Scott who averaged 16.5 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 1.8 apg, and 1.7 bpg. Also chipping in for the Buffaloes on the season has been George King (13.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg), Josh Fortune (10.4 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.4 apg), and Wesley Gordon (7.4 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 1.2 apg). Offensively, Colorado is averaging 75.8 ppg on 42.8% shooting from the field and 39.6% shooting from beyond the arc. The Buffaloes have a rebound margin of 8.6 and a turnover margin of -2.7.
The Cougars are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games following a straight up loss and 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Buffaloes are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Wednesday games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
Colorado was able to defeat Washington State in both matchups this season however, both games were competitive as the Buffaloes won by a 75-70 margin on the road and 88-81 in 2OT at home. Colorado has a ton of talent that has beaten the top teams in the Pac-12 this season, however, the Buffaloes have had trouble closing out games in the 2nd half due to an offense that can disappear at times. Colorado is the better team but they are not the same team away from home and as Washington State has been competitive with the Buffaloes this season, I’m taking the Cougars and the points in this one.
