The Chicago State Cougars shoot for the huge upset of the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners.
The Chicago State Cougars 4-27 record says all we need to know and that’s opponents are scoring too much and their own scoring hasn’t been strong enough. The Cougars obviously have trouble at both ends of the floor as they have been outscored 77-67 which are difficult numbers to make work. The Cougars were 0-14 in the conference with several close contests and if they are to get their first win in the WAC I would say the closer to 70 points they score and allow the better their chance. Fred Sims Jr. is the lone double digit scorer at eleven points but if the four 9+ point producers can add a few more baskets each there is a glimmer of hope.

The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners have not tasted a ton of success but they have their best team and finished third in the conference with an 11-3 record and an impressive 21-8 overall mark behind an outstanding mix of scoring and defense. The Roadrunners average 73 points on solid 45% marksmanship backed by a defense that allows 64 points on less then 40% shooting which makes this a top 25 unit nationally. CSB should have momentum on their side after closing the regular season with wins in seven of eight. The Roadrunners can do some damage if they continue to come close to their season averages. A decent defensive effort and four DD scorers led by Aly Ahmed and Kevin Mays scoring 13.5 and 13 points respectively and a combined 14+ rebounds.
The under is 8-1-1 in Chicago State last 10 overall and Cal State Bakersfield are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 overall. I think Bakersfield wins by 20 if they choose or win by 15 and don’t cover…
