The Coppin State Eagles kept their conference title hopes alive with a 98-91, double overtime victory versus North Carolina A&T on Monday as a 1.5 point underdog. The Eagles held a 43.5%-39% shooting edge with a 34-23 advantage at the foul line being decisive which negated the Aggies 12 more looks at the basket. James Sylvester pumped in 24 points to lead all scorers with Christian Kessee netting 23 points on 7-15 including six bombs. Keith Shivers added 19 points and nine rebounds while Joshua Treadwell and Terry Harris Jr. scored 13 points apiece and combined for 17 boards.

The South Carolina State Bulldogs didn’t stand out with their 17-14 record but they certainly left an impression on the MEAC with a second place finish at 12-4. The Bulldogs scored and allowed around 73 points which doesn’t seem to be conducive to winning but the Bulldogs received scoring when needed od defense when needed as they went 7-3 to end the regular season with some mojo. The offense is in good hands with leading scorer EJ Eaves pumping 17 points on 51% with Edward Stephens and Gabe McCray adding 13 and 11.5 points respectively with three others averaging around 7-8 points the Bulldogs have options.
