The Texas State Bobcats shoot for another upset when they face the Texas Arlington Mavericks in the Sun Belt quarters.
The Texas-Arlington Mavericks received a bye in to the Sun Belt quarterfinals thanks to their third place finish. The Mavericks have had a great year at 22-9 and will be in the postseason somewhere although the obvious goal is to win the conference playoffs and head to the NCAA’s. The Mavericks have some momentum with a four game winning streak to lean on behind a potent offense that lights up the scoreboard to the tune of 80 points while allowing 69 points on just 39% shooting. With leading scorer Kevin Hervey sitting on the bench with a bad knee and 18 points the offense will look for Erick Neal (13 ppg), Jalen Jones (12.5 ppg) and Kaelon Wilson (10 ppg) to ramp up their production.
